Celeb Colour Transformations: Blonde vs Brunette

Blonde Brunette Featured

When it comes to hair, most of us have experimented with our colour. Blondes wonder if life’s better on the dark side, and brunettes want to see if blondes really have more fun. And the celebs are at it too; while some of these transformations might have been for movie roles or modelling gigs, sometimes celebs just fancy a change-up in the same way that we do. We’ve picked out some of our fave celebs who have dabbled with the dye – but which look suited them better?

Jennifer Lawrence

With an Oscar, three Golden Globes and a BAFTA under her belt, Jennifer Lawrence has established herself as one of the most talented actresses in Hollywood right now. And while we all love her films from American Hustle to The Hunger Games, the 25-year-old’s hair also manages to command a lot of our attention. Why? Partly because over her decade in the industry, J-Law’s tried out most hairstyles going. From flowing blonde waves to that pixie cut, she’s done it all – and she’s flitted back and forth between blonde and brunette numerous times too. While her brunette hair will always give us girl power vibes thanks to Katniss Everdeen, we think that Jennifer looks her best when she returns to her girl-next-door blonde roots.

Kendall Jenner

Aside from Kylie’s penchant for wigs and Kim’s Paris Fashion Week bleaching episode, the Kardashian/Jenner clan are mainly known for their sultry dark hair and eyes. However, Kendall hit the headlines in Mach 2016 when she appeared blonde for the Balmain runway. In this instance, it turned out to just be a platinum blonde wig; and we have to admit that we were kind of relieved. While she can no doubt pull any colour and style off, we think Kendall looks at her most gorgeous as a natural brunette.

Margot Robbie

Margot Robbie became a household name after playing the blonde bombshell wife of Leo DiCaprio in The Wolf of Wall Street, but the Australian actress has also braved the brunette during her time in the spotlight. For the iconic role of Jane in the new Legend of Tarzan film, Margot went for a warm copper hue. Of course she still looked absolutely stunning, but beachy blonde wins for us.

Demi Lovato

Maybe because of her persona as a former child star, Demi Lovato has undergone a number of image changes in an attempt to establish a more mature identity for herself. Along with pink, purple and blue, Demi’s also played around with the more natural shades of blonde, brown and black during her busy career. We love when Demi rocks a strong colour, but think choppy and dark is her most sophisticated look to date.
