When it comes to taking care of our hair, we’re actually pretty good at it. According to studies we spend a whopping £47k on haircare in our lifetime, so we must be reaping the benefits, right? But what if we told you that the key to amazing hair isn’t just about that weekly hair mask or easing off heat styling – it’s actually all down to your hairbrush. Surprised? Well, it’s true!
Believe it or not, a lot of us use the wrong hair brush for our hair type and desired result, leaving us with frizz, split ends and unnecessary breakage – a major thumbs down. Although it’s great that you’re spending more time getting regular trims and using much needed hair care treatments to ensure your strands are healthy and hydrated, it’s also important that you’re covering the basics too, so don’t let your hairbrush take a back seat.
Hair experts will tell you that the not-so-humble hairbrush is ESSENTIAL for achieving great hair – in fact, our stylists go as far as saying that the hairbrush is the most important tool to have as it complements all other hair products, like hairdryers and straighteners or even when you apply products to the hair. But if you’re not sure which brush you need – check out our Denman range – which includes every type of brush your hair’ll ever need.

Their gentlest of detanglers, the Tangle Tamer Gentle is a gentler version of the Tangle Tamer (no surprises there we hope), and effortlessly glides through knots and tangles leaving hair feeling smooth, sleek and tangle free! Tug-free too, the Tangle Tamer Gentle is designed for fine to medium hair and for those who are more sensitive to brushing – especially kids. Perfect for those with fragile hair or sensitive scalps.

The great thing about this brush is that it works to detangle wet *and* dry hair, which works wonders when you want to brush out those ghd curls and waves…
It also features an air cushioned pad that gently responds to the contours of the head – and actually quite relaxing to use… 😴
Perfect for use on wet and dry hair, all Denman Tangle Tamer brushes feature their unique soft bristle technology. You’ll find it simply glides through knots and tangles with ease, leaving your hair feeling smooth, sleek and detangled. It’s perfect for kids, people with sensitive scalps or fragile hair.
How to care for your brushes
Right, now that you’ve got the low-down on the brushes, here’s how to look after them:
Wash in warm, soapy water. Rinse and leave to dry away from direct heat and sunlight.
To ensure your brush is in tip top condition, make sure you remove any loose hair from the brush after every use. This helps to keep the bristle pad nice and clean, and avoids build up of product and dust mites and stray hairs which, if left for too long can result in a breeding ground for bacteria build up… all of which you just end up putting back into your hair – resulting in greasier hair and risk of infection – ew!
So let that be a warning to you – please clean your hairbrushes! If you do, they’ll have a much longer life span.
