Festival Hair Colours

Vibrant colours dominated the kick-off festival of the year, Coachella. From subtle pastel hues to statement bold shades, there was a rainbow of colours to behold! We’re set to see the trend continue throughout the festival season so we asked our Creative Director Kieron Fowles to pick out a few key shades to try out this summer…

“We saw experimental colour eclipse everything at Coachella and it’s great to see so many celebrities experimenting with bold colour. Kylie Jenner’s shade is perfect for summer – the turquoise hue is very mermaid-esque! Shades of blue and green can be difficult to maintain and can end up looking dull and feeling dry. It’s so important to invest in a colour protect shampoo and also hydrating products to keep your locks looking luscious. I’d recommend Paul Mitchell Color Protect Daily Shampoo for regular use and the super-nourishing TIGI Bed Head Colour Goddess Miracle Treatment Mask for more intensive hydration once a week.

The Dumb Blonde girls rocked the granny chic look that’s fast becoming a hot trend for spring/summer. Going grey is easier if your hair is already lighter so blondes will see a similar result very quickly. Darker hair colours will have to be taken up gradually but you should expect to see a similar result within six months.

Luminous pastel shades were also on show, with Julianne Hough sporting a flash of pink through her bob cut. Pastels are great for adding a hint of colour and we have six beautiful shades available in salon, including mint greens and muted mauves. I love our pastel colours because they’re semi-permanent so you can switch up your colour for each festival meaning you’ll always be ahead of the style pack!

If you’re thinking about trying any of these festival hair colours, make sure you chat to a professional – stop by your nearest Supercuts salon and one of our stylists will be happy to help you pick your perfect shade.”
