With Beyonce’s pixie and bob looks, and Tulisa ditching the extensions for a sharp shoulder-length cut, short hair is the hottest choice around. No longer just an option for older women or those opting for androgyny, stars like Miley Cyrus and Rihanna have made short crops super feminine.
We’re huge fans of going for the chop – be it a blunt bob or all the way to a sweeping-fringed pixie style, there’s an option for every face and hair type. Incorporating her natural curls into a short cut this month, Rihanna left her weave behind and went for a gorgeous and flattering natural look, showing short hair isn’t just for straight textures.
Laura McCool, from The Edge Artistic Team has some tips for going shorter:
“Going for the chop is a bold move as you’re really exposing your face and its features but if you’ve got bags of confidence like Beyoncé then it pays to be daring with your hair. The pixie crop is bang on trend for the androgynous fashions we’ve seen on the AW catwalks. Far from being masculine, a cropped cut can highlight and accentuate your feminine features like Beyoncé’s beautiful big eyes.”
If you’ve got attitude, style and an experimental streak, go bold and go shorter!
