Thinking about mixing up your style for the New Year? We’ve picked the brains of our artistic team or stylists, The Edge, to bring you 2015’s hottest hair cuts, colours and trends. Which will you choose?
When it comes to cuts, it doesn’t get more stylish than bobs and mid-length tresses. With so many of our favourite stars from Britney Spears to Vanessa Hudgens lopping off their signature locks last year, it’s no wonder shorter ‘dos are still going strong. Wear yours poker straight for a statement style or scrunch Kérastase Spray á Porter through damp or dry locks for an effortless, tousled finish.
If you’re not ready to part with your longer locks, don’t panic as there are plenty of ways to style your hair to make sure you’re ahead of the pack. Already this year we’ve seen an abundance of styles incorporating classic Hollywood waves. It was a big hit at the Golden Globes for the likes of Jessica Chastain and Allison Williams and we’re certain it will continue throughout this year’s awards season. A side parting with soft, luxurious waves is the best way to wear this style. To recreate the look, mist 1-2 inch sections of hair with ghd Curl Hold Spray before curling each section using the ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong. Top tip: don’t curl higher than your cheekbone to keep the look natural. Finish by combing through with a paddle brush and smoothing down your tresses with Paul Mitchell Super Skinny Serum to tame flyaways.
When it comes to colour, it’s all about natural yet expensive-looking shades. Whether you choose a soft, muted red hue or a multi-tonal blonde, the key to on-trend colour for 2015 is low-maintenance upkeep and a super-glossy finish. One of our favourite techniques is balayage where colour is painted free-hand onto the hair for beautiful, subtle colour placement that flatters almost every hair colour, type and style.
