Style Hunter

Last weekend we were on the hunt to find the most accessible, stylish and fabulous hair styles at Highcross shopping centre Leicester.

It was definitely a battle of girls Vs boys. And with so many marvellous styles to choose from, we snapped the best of the best to bring you some style inspiration for the next time you’re in salon

THE BOYS: Quiffs and asymmetrical side swept fringes.

Vintage hair and fashion has been all over the catwalk this season and the Quiff has been no exception. The ‘Teddy Boy’ movement bought the ‘Quiff’ to the forefront of style in the 50’s and then we saw a revival in the early 80’s; now its back in fashion and we have to say we love this look.
The asymmetrical side fringe is about getting your hair textured, adding volume and getting some good product in there (Designline Volumizing Gel). This look has been popular for a while and has been sported by Zach Efron, Jared Leto and Josh Hartnet. Boys keep up the good work. This look is bang on trend.

THE GIRLS: Vibrant colour and textured locks.

The reds: The girls are showing us how to rock some vibrant reds and teaming them up with some great cuts. Whether your hair is long or short, red is the coulour of the season!

The blondes: Blonde never goes out of style and we saw some lovely warm blonde tones – perfect for this time of year. Whether you’re an icy cool blonde or a more subtle ash colour, the blonde ladies are still walking tall.

The brunettes: Being a classic brunette myself it was great to see some lovely warm copper tones being introduced to really make the hair pop! Fringes were also popular with our brunette ladies and whether you like it sharp and blunt or swept to the side – a fringe will bring structure to any style.

Take a bow all the lovely people of Leicester. We saw some truly inspirational styles – from striking quiffs to bright and vibrant reds.

You can see all the styles on our Flickr gallery.

We’d like to say a big thank you to Highcross blogger and photographer Lucie, who was our guide and photographer for the day.
