Sunday night marked the end of the 2016 awards season with the most glamorous event of them all, the Oscars.
We jumped for joy when Leo’s name was finally called out as a winner and if that wasn’t enough there was plenty of style inspiration courtesy of Hollywood’s leading ladies. It was great to see a few more unusual, edgy looks popping up this year too! Take a look at a few of our faves…
Dorith Mous showed us how to rock shorter hair with her beautifully dishevelled ‘do. Use a curling iron with a thin barrel to tease sections of hair to get a similar beachy texture. (We love the ghd Curve Creative Curl Wand.) A matte finish is key for this look so stay away from those gloss sprays. Choose a flexible hairspray to seal your style instead (try Redken Quicktease) – that way you and rework and restyle throughout the night.
Sophie Turner gave us serious long hair envy with her luscious, copper-hued locks. With a gentle wave and elegant side parting, Sophie embodied spring/ summer 2016’s ethereal vibe to the max. Get the look with our easy how to guide.
Lady Gaga embraced the black tie dress code but still kept a hint of her signature quirkiness with her peachy makeup palette. Her hair was styled in Hollywood waves that would make Marilyn Monroe proud. And, there’s not a single hair out of place here – good work, Gaga!
Just. Look. At. That. Dress. Need we say more? Margot Robbie was our style icon of the night. In her figure hugging snakeskin gown from Tom Ford, Margot made sure all eyes were on her on the red carpet. Her effortless, textured hairstyle complemented her ultra-glam dress perfectly. To steal her style, you need to keep your locks in top condition. Invest in a moisturising shampoo and conditioner and keep a smoothing serum close to hand to keep those ends in check. For us, nothing beats TIGI Bed Head Control Freak.
