After a fantastic kick off in Manchester two weeks ago, the X Factor auditions are now in full swing. With the addition of Rita Ora, Rochelle Humes and Caroline Flack to the team, this year seems to be the most stylish to date! See what looks the ladies were sporting at the recent London auditions…
Cheryl’s really been mixing up her look, going from relaxed and effortless one day to super-groomed the next. We’re loving seeing her try out new styles and Sunday’s auditions saw her take power dressing to a whole new level in her tailored white blazer dress. She paired her super crisp outfit with an ultra-sophisticated chignon. This look works best with a centre-parting and plenty of smoothing agents to tame flyaways – try using DESIGNLINE Fiji Therapy Styling Oil on damp hair, followed with a spritz Paul Mitchell Seal and Shine over your finished style.
Rita stuck to her trademark playful style, teaming her low cut crop top with a mini top knot. If you’re looking to recreate the style at home, your hair will have more grip if you don’t wash it less than a day before. Separate off the top 1/3 of hair and work through a small amount of a strong hold styling product like L’Oreal Professionnel Tecni Art Fix Glue before scraping it back and securing in a high ponytail. Wrap the ponytail around the base and pin into place, securing with a mist of EIMI Stay Styled. Add a soft wave to the remaining two thirds of hair using the ghd Curve Soft Curl Tong – watch our how-to video for more tips.
Rochelle kept her style simple and low key with a classic, mid-ponytail. Keep 2-3 inches of hair out at the front for a softer, feminine finish. Give your ponytail a bit of lift by lightly back-combing at the roots before tying up your hair. A glossy finish will help take this look from day to night with ease – we love TIGI Bed Head Headrush for enviable high shine.
