With 2018 just around the corner and parties on the horizon, many of us will be taking the time to pamper ourselves ready for the New Year. However, with our money all spent on Christmas presents and a long wait til January payday, splashing the cash isn’t always easy.
That’s why we’ve asked our Creative Director, Kieron Fowles, for his top tips on keeping your hairstyle looking great whilst on a budget.
“If you’re looking for a change in time for the New Year, try updating your style with a low commitment fringe. With tousled undone and relaxed styling, the cut and shape can look even better as it begins to grow out. You’ll be left with a boho look which gives a nod to the retro 70’s with a modern edge. What’s more, you’ll be spending less as you won’t have to get it cut quite as often.” Our salons are all open between Christmas and New Year’s Eve, and don’t forget that there’s no need for an appointment! Simply find your local Supercuts and pop in at a time that suits you.
Long, strong and healthy
“When you’re attending many events and celebrating throughout Christmas, it’s important not to forget about the health of your hair. Drinking alcohol can dehydrate your hair in the same way it dehydrates your skin.
“When hair is dry, it can become weak and brittle, making it more prone to split ends. Use treatments and hair protein agents to keep the condition feeling amazing and rehydrated for the festive and New Year’s season.” Looking for a budget product that’ll fix your locks without breaking the bank? Kieron loves Desginline Protein Boost Leave In (£9.99) to strengthen hair from the root.
Crimped to perfection
“Crimping is back this season! Getting the crimped look isn’t hard and definitely doesn’t cost too much if you have the right equipment. Just blow dry the hair smooth, and separate into random sections to begin. Crimp the sections at the root and add volume to the top by backcombing the hair slightly. To finish, smooth the hair over and braid.” The great news is that the ghd Contour is currently in our ghd winter sale with £10 off!
