The Grammy Awards 2014

Last night’s 56th Grammy Awards in LA were the star-studded affair we’ve come to know and love. Bringing together 2014’s best and brightest from the American music industry, this is the awards show famed for a youthful red carpet presence and sometimes-daring looks from the stars! This year we didn’t see any red carpet mishaps, but the show and the style choices definitely had us gripped. We’ve run down some of our favourite hair looks from last night below, have we included yours?

Kicking off the show with the performance that had everyone buzzing on social, Beyonce performed Drunk In Love with a steamy stripped down performance. Her wet-look onstage hair embraced her blonde bob’s natural curl and was a huge departure from her usual stage look – it’s not one to wear on the high street, but with this staging Beyoncé made it look fantastic as per usual!

Arriving on the red carpet in a floorlength and figure hugging white dress, Paris Hilton went for an on-trend updo. This swept-up and imperfect hairline is set to be a hit this year, playing with an unfinished texture and big volume. Get a similar style with ease using this step-by-step.

Representing the UK ladies was a popstar who’s quirky style we love. Foxes had plenty of style writers asking “Who’s that girl?” with an arresting gown plus stunning makeup and hair. Her casual fringe cut perfectly frames a clean and fresh beauty look, while her ombre is given a modern lift thanks to cool, matte colours and big loose curls.

Showing that simple often works best, one of the most understated but effective looks of the night was Taylor Swift’s red carpet ponytail. Keeping her fringe in place for a hair change later in the show, the random curls and textured pieces in the ponytail give it a contemporary feel that works well with her super subtle ombre gradient.
