Last weekend saw a host of teen icons gather at the Galen Center in Los Angeles for the 2015 Teen Choice Awards. With amazing performances from 5 Seconds of Summer, Flo Rida and Little Mix, as well as wins for some of our favourite TV shows including The Vampire Diaries and Pretty Little Liars, it was a jam-packed event and we loved every minute!
After arriving on the blue carpet dressed as their geeky alter-egos from the Black Magic video, Little Mix transformed their look for an energetic performance of their number one single. We loved their coordinated mini skirt ensembles and their hairstyles reflected LA’s laid-back vibe perfectly. Perrie and Jade’s boho waves definitely stood out for us: to steal their style, the ghd Curve Creative Curl Wand is the ultimate tool for beach babe waves. Pastel hair continued to dominate with Rita Ora and Style Icon winner, Britney Spears, both sporting sherbet-hued locks. Rita opted for a more demure yet bang on trend super-straight style, adding a flash of pretty pink to put her playful stamp on the style. Britney took her pastels one step further with a colourful take on the popular ‘sand art‘ trend. Mixing shades of purple, blue and green, she nailed the look. If you fancy recreating her rainbow effect, check out our Creative Director’s expert advice:
“The technique is achieved by a build-up of multi-tonal shades and it’s so easy to achieve in salon thanks to our semi-permanent iNSTAMAT!C pastel shades: six luminous matte gloss finishes in variations of blue, green, purple and pink. Just make sure you keep your freshly-coloured locks well-hydrated to prevent premature fading. I’d recommend DESIGNLINE Ultimate Radiance Shampoo and Conditioner for a regular moisture boost.” Kieron Fowles.
If you’re thinking about embracing the pastel trend yourself, stop by your local Supercuts salon and our stylists will be more than happy to help you pick your perfect shade!
