As the live shows get tougher, this year’s X Factor style is getting better every week as each act’s personal style develops with their performances. This week was movie week, which saw a lot of ballads once more – are you itching for an uptempo week? We are!
In a week of slightly safe hairstyling, it was Tamera’s brand new weave that stood out for me on Saturday night’s show. With a light blonde shade and dark roots, her new look tapped into the recent trend for making your roots the key to a look, rather than rushing to hide them as soon as they grow. Maybe it was the song choice, but I feel like she was really channeling Beyonce with this new, blonder do.
We found out that stylist Jamie Stevens finally got his hands on Luke’s hair this week! Jamie was a good sport though and didn’t give Luke’s pride and joy the snip, just a well needed wash, keeping the unique style intact but smelling decidedly fresher. Behind the scenes, Hannah Barrett received her first EVER haircut…yes the first she’s had in her whole 17 years, and at Jamie’s hands too. Wow!
On Sunday’s show we saw Lady Gaga doing some crazy wig throwing antics, revealing a stripped-back look from her previous X Factor stage performances.
Also on Sunday was my Hair of the Week, on the one and only Nicole Scherzinger. Pairing a long black dress and statement jewellery with her slicked-back do left her looking flawless and chic. Get that slicked-back style that’s been all over the catwalks by blowdrying the hair straight and smooth, using SP Luxe Oil to give extra control to unruly textures. Then comb away your parting and slick back all the hair into shape using TIGI Up Front to hold style but retain volume. Finish with high shine using Redken Vinyl Glam spray.
We can’t wait to see what next week’s disco theme throws our way – we’re hoping for more outlandish looks from all the contestants. Let us know your faves in the comments below.
