Colour Package A

This colour package is perfect if you just want to dabble in a spot of hair colouring without transitioning too drastically away from your natural or base colour. You want a flash of colour, as supposed to a complete overhaul and you definitely don’t want to spend hours in the salon or be billed with a heavy price tag at the end of it all… sound familiar? Well, not only does this Colour Package include classic colour service options such as a root tint, semi-permanent colour, 8 foils of highlights or a shoe shine, but it’s also a super affordable way of upgrading your overall hairstyle using colour, instead of just getting your standard cut and blow dry.

What’s included:

  • Cut and blow dry
  • Bonding treatment
  • Root tint OR Semi-Permanent Colour, OR 8 Foils (highlights), OR a Shoe Shine

ROOT TINT*

What is it?

Yep, you’ve guessed it, a root tint is applied at the roots (crazy, eh?) and helps to cover root re-growth and match the colour that appears on the remaining length of your hair. A root tint is a permanent colour which can lighten or darken hair as well as cover grey. Our stylists recommend a root tint on regrowth of approximately 1 inch or less. Alternatively, a darker root tint can be applied to cover your natural base colour, giving the appearance of a root stretch (also referred to as a root drag) – which blends seamlessly into the rest of your pre-existing lightened or coloured hair.

Results and Wear

Commitment: 3 – 4 weeks

Most hair colours fade with regular shampooing so it’s important to note that a tint needs to be reapplied every 3 to 4 weeks to ensure even colour coverage. That said, there are plenty of at home hair care products available that are specially made for coloured hair to ensure your salon colour lasts longer. Although you won’t be able to avoid a salon touch up forever, our stylists can definitely recommend an at home hair care routine along with products to suit your hair type and colour, to help you along the way.

SEMI-PERMANENT COLOUR*

What is it?

If you’re looking for an all over colour to help cover a little grey or simply add some well needed gloss and shine to your hair, we’d recommend opting for a semi-permanent colour.  This is a great option if you want to introduce a new tone to your existing colour for an overall darker appearance – we should point out that semi-permanent colour doesn’t lighten hair. Our stylists will apply a specially formulated hair colour that’s bespoke to your hair’s needs and your colour requirements. It’s important to point out that unlike box dyes, our stylists consider the complexities of your hair length, texture, density, and porosity – all of which play a part in how it renders colour. We hate to break it to you but, there isn’t a box dye available that will take all of this into account, let alone help you apply it without risking damage to your hair cuticles. At Supercuts however, our stylists can look at your hair’s current condition, as well as any previous treatments, and customize a colour service that will help you achieve your desired results.

Results and Wear

Commitment: 4 – 6 weeks

Like a root tint, any all over colour that you apply to hair will eventually fade away and become less vibrant. You can do a few things at home however, that will help keep your colour going strong in between salon visits and our stylists can recommend the best products for your hair type and colour.

8 FOILS*

Strategically placed colour in the way of 8 foils is a nifty little way of brightening up your hair without having to undergo a complete transformation – and you’ll still get the whole “wow, love your new hair” reaction from your friends. If you opt for this colour service your stylist will be able to spot exactly where to place your 8 foils, so that your subtle highlights really compliment your hairstyle, existing colour and face shape. Your stylist may opt for increasingly popular face-framing highlights or babylights to really help frame your face and compliment your existing hairstyle. Did you know that clever colour placement can accentuate certain facial features? Fancy bringing out your cheek bones or chiselling out your jawline? Clever highlights around your face can do exactly that – ask your stylist to find out more.

Results and Wear

Commitment: 4 – 6 weeks

Although we’d say you can get away with not touching up your foils for as long as 6 weeks, we’d recommend popping in at the 4-week mark to keep your colour looking salon fresh. As highlights create a much more noticeable contrast between your natural or base colour, regrowth is much more noticeable, so topping up on your 8 foils is worth it if you want to keep your colour going strong. On the plus side, applying 8 foils is a quick process, and if you’re popping in for regular touch ups, you’ll be in and out of the salon chair before you know it.

SHOE SHINE*

What is it?

No, we don’t mean propping up your Loubs for a good old shine and wax, we mean shoe shining your hair. Confused? Don’t be. This hair colour service is a technique that uses clever colour placement to help reflect light off the ends of short hair.

A shoe shine service involves applying hair colour to the ends of short hair for an overall sun-kissed look. A popular service for our male guests (or anyone rocking a short ‘do), it’s the perfect way to lighten and brighten hair.

Results and Wear

Commitment: 4 – 6 weeks

This colour service is great for super short hairstyles and those who see themselves as hair colour commitment phoebes, as regrowth is much less obvious. We do recommend however, that if you plan on keeping your hair colour looking salon-fresh, you’ll need to pop in once every 4 to 6 weeks to touch up on your colour. And remember, regular touch-ups make for a speedy colour service too.

*Don’t forget that if it’s your first time colouring your hair with us, you’ll need to pop in for a skin test to check you’re not allergic to our salon colour at least 48 hours prior to your hair colour service.
